He's worked as a news director in Springfield, Massachusetts, and several years ago he was an anchor and reporter in Albany, New York. He started his career in 1987.

Williams started working at West Palm Beach NBC affiliate in 2011. WPTV anchor Michael Williams is retiring from broadcasting after 44 years. He started his career in TV at WSVN in Miami in 1984 and went on to work at NBC News, before joining WFOR in 2008. He's also worked at WTVX in Fort Pierce.
