. “Since their bots are generating millions of clicks each day, we’re able to see where these fake clicks are coming from. In other words, we can see which websites are owned by the criminals, and report them to the adnetworks to get them taken down.

“There’s a new breed of click fraud bots which are resisting almost all detection methods,” said Trey Vanes, head of marketing at Polygraph. These click fraud bots are targeting advertisers who use Google Ads, Microsoft Ads, Quora, and TikTok.
Polygraph, a cybersecurity company specializing in click fraud detection, is reminding advertisers to block click fraud websites from being able to display or click on their ads. Click fraud is an online scam which steals tens of billions of dollars from innocent advertisers each year.
One of the industry’s biggest secrets is click fraud – cyber-criminals generate fake clicks on ads, resulting in substantial losses for advertisers, and huge profits for the advertising networks and criminals. Some advertising networks do make a genuine effort to detect fake clicks, but many don’t.
To inflate earnings, and cheat the companies paying for the adverts, bots are used to generate thousands of fake clicks on the ads each day. For every adclick, the advertisers pay fees to the adnetworks, and this money is then shared with the scammers.
The problem with this is almost all click fraud is automated, and the criminals are targeting your ad keywords rather than your specific ad campaign or company. Therefore, as soon as you restart your ad campaign, the click fraud will continue. Marketing Technology News: MarTech Interview With Jamal Miller, Sr.
